History
The Show Me Vizsla Club was formed in 1991 by a handful of members from Kansas and Missouri. In 1998, the Show Me Vizsla Club received America Kennel Club recognition. Today, our membership has grown to include members from the metropolitan Kansas City area as well as all over the Midwest.
The Show Me Vizsla Club hosts several events a year as well as issuing a bi-monthly newsletter. Members are encouraged to attend these events and to volunteer for committee assignments within the club whenever possible as well as submit articles for publication. Meetings are held throughout the year and usually involve a planned activity such as talks on first-aid, behavior or acupressure, dog games or hunt training demonstrations. Meetings may also include a potluck lunch.
All Vizsla lovers are welcome to join, whether they own a dog to hunt, show or sit on the couch with or just hope to be owned by a Vizsla some day. Please feel free to contact any of our board members with questions you might have regarding our breed or our club.
Functions
The club is involved in Breed Rescue, Breeder Referral and Public Education. While the Vizsla is a wonderful breed, it is not for everyone. We aim to help future owners decide if this is the breed for them by serving as a resource for questions, by providing information on our website and by periodically placing an ad in the classified section of the Kansas City Star.

Our newsletter is published bi-monthly and provides information about upcoming events, brags, rescue updates, meeting minutes and much more.
